Concept art of Avatar

Concept art of Avatar: Water Road, which will be Corelli's on December 16.

Those eyes saw a sight I never thought I'd see: the Avatar 2 trailer. After more than a decade of development and production, writer-director James Cameron finally unveiled the trailer for the much-anticipated and much-anticipated sequel at CinemaCon. in Las Vegas and although you can't see it yet, you will soon. Here's what you need to know.

First, the movie is no longer called "Avatar 2". The official title is Avatar: Water Road and it will hit theaters on December 16. Before that, though, Disney will release the original Avatar with revised picture and sound in theaters on September 23. There is plenty of time for fans and admirers to get to know Pandora, Navi and the most successful movie of all time once again. (It's also on Disney+.

So did the film's producer, Jon Landau. Each of the next four sequels will take center stage on the family of Jack Sully (Sam Worthington) and Natri (Zoe Saldana), but they will also stand on their own. "Each film will provide the audience with a satisfying emotional resolution," Landau said. "However, as a whole, the journey of all four films will create an even bigger, cohesive and epic story."

The trailer will arrive in theaters exclusively on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will be released on May 6. This is the only place that can be officially visited by the public. It is expected to be displayed online in a week.

So what's inside? Well, it starts with those familiar giants of vines high above the ground and the Na'vi family, some big, some small, running and jumping around them. There's a close-up shot of Nateri's face looking intently, followed by a high shot of the Four Navy flying on his back in what appears to be Pandora's Banshees over a vast sea of water. They fly out into the ocean over large semi-coral structures on which many Na'vi are standing. You can't talk about it. Just sweet and soothing music with hints of James Horner themes.

Then we see an industrial area with fully clothed people walking and talking to each other. Launch some helicopters. Then clips of Navi swimming underwater. That's the great thing about this part, hence the title, and to be honest... it didn't even look like there was water. You know, it's water, everything's blue, and there's a fish and a creature swimming, but it looks like they're floating in air. To be fair, the footage barely lasted a few seconds and I was back on stage. It looks soft but not 100% convincing like water.

The trailer then becomes a kind of montage. Some shots include Jack and Nattery trapped in a sunken submarine. You are spying on a group of people. Shots of Na'vi swimming with the whale holding its fin with one hand. And in one shot Jack also looks like he's floating on water, but then you realize he's riding a creature that can fly in both water and air. Oh, and Jack now has a haircut. It looks very military. Black, short, clipped on head.

"I know one thing," Jack says in the trailer's only dialogue. "Wherever we go, this family is our stronghold." Everything lasts 90 seconds.

After 12 years of waiting, will this trailer be enough to get people excited about it? Re-incarnation? We will see. What are you going to do, tell people about Avatar this song trailer will be back and will grab everyone's attention after it releases in theaters and online.
